Director, Operations (Mortgages) Job in Toronto M5c2v6, Ontario Canada
An amazing opportunity is present for a MORTGAGE GURU with 10-20 years of back office operations experience within the mortgage industry.
While there is not a people management component to the role, the incumbent will be working closely with others in all areas of operations including senior management.
Position Overview:
The Mortgage Operations Consultant is accountable for providing business expertise and leadership in development of administrative best practices for all mortgage lending products. The key focus is to strengthen operational resilience through efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery while mitigating risk to achieve best in class results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Align industry best practices to administrative process, procedures and business controls that balance productivity and risk judiciously
- Analyze business and industry trends
- Consult in the development of key performance and key risk indicators for the business
- Analyze results against key performance indicator targets and key risk targets. Report results, investigate variances and determine what adjustments are required to positively influence
- Investigate impact of regulatory changes to ensure business is prepared in advance of passage into law
- Provide support to operations on technical matters
- Recommend solutions for the business that include policy updates, work simplification, process design and workflow methodology that meet internal standards and external regulations
- Contribute to the achievement of the corporate objectives by developing, communicating and executing tactics that support the overall plan
- Develop others by sharing expertise, mentoring and participate in creation of formal and informal training
- Provide expertise throughout the business planning cycle
- Communicate and work with other members of management to ensure a constant exchange of information, sharing key messages through your network to influence change and enhance
- Create and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
- Develop business case, WPAs and proposals as required
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of industry experience in mortgage operations in Canada, 5 years at a senior level
- Obtained Business or related Degree
- In depth knowledge of mortgage industry in Canada
- In depth knowledge of mortgage lending products
- In depth knowledge of real estate law across Canada
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
- Innovator able to challenge the status quo and act as a liaison with stakeholders to achieve results
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills
- Strong work ethic and team orientation
- Real estate course accreditations
