Accounts Payable Accountant

Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities Include:

• Receive and log invoices, checking for contract compliance, mathematical accuracy and invoice completeness
• Route for approvals to pay
• Maintain a control system for returned approved invoices, to ensure invoices are paid in accordance with credit terms (no early payments)
• Handle queries and obtain invoice corrections as necessary
• Investigate and resolve problem invoices and ensure satisfactory resolution
• Ensure invoice holdbacks are correctly recorded
• Ensure Non Residents Withholding Tax is correctly recorded, with paid funds being transferred to CRA along with supporting back up documents

Qualifications Include:

• Minimum Grade 12 plus some further education
• Minimum of three to five years of Accounts Payable experience
• Good knowledge of computer accounting systems and spreadsheets
• Good communication and customer service skills in a team environment
• Attention to detail and excellent time management skills
• Experience handling high volume is essential
