Polymer Engineer/Chemist
Kingspan, world leader in design, manufacture and marketing of Polyurethane insulated panels for the commercial, industrial, cold storage and architectural industry seeks a Polymer Engineer/Chemist for the Caledon, Ontario Location.
In this role you will:
Function within a working laboratory and support all technical/ approval and product testing data.
Ensure that working systems and procedures are introduced and maintained around the polymer process and related functions
Assist the execution of development efforts, QC tests and experiments to achieve desired quality characteristics of new materials and processes under the guidance of the divisional polymer chemist.
Perform analysis of testing outcomes and data based on the study of existing or new formulations, raw materials or processes.
Report and monitor KPIs.
Act as a training mentor for existing/new laboratory technicians.
Communicate regularly with other departments and assist with technical consults as required.
Attend regular meetings within the polymer department and also with other site production departments.
Qualified candidate must have:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent with an emphasis in chemistry, polymer science, engineering or related technical field.
Minimum of 2 years experience with products and processes in a manufacturing environment desired.
Experience/Knowledge of Polyurethane foams desirable.
The ability to communicate with upper management and represent the department with internal and external auditing bodies on site specific issues.
Ability to travel if required and possess valid passport
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills with aggressive follow-through
High level of creativity with strong problem solving skills
Excellent time management skills, including proper travel planning
