TheHead Technicianwill be responsible for all aspects of the Service Shop, including customer service, sales, loss prevention and product servicing.
TheHead service techmust have a proven ability to do the following:
Management / Leadership Skills:
• Develop department team through setting expectations, communication, coaching, feedback and ongoing support
• Build and manage a daily game plan for the department
• Create and execute development plans for Full-time staff
• Maintain a positive work environment for staff
• Exhibit all elements of the FGL Leadership Brand
Customer Service
• Ensure all department team members are able to deliver GAME Day Service consistently
• Greet customers, identify their needs, provide assistance in suggesting suitable service
• Be courteous and profession with all customers
• Handle all customer complaints in a calm and professional manner
• Offer assistance to customers in the Hardgoods department as required
• Be familiar with all in-store promotions
Service Shop Operations
• Ensure all documentation (e.g. work orders) are completed accurately, processed and stored, as per the FGL standards
• Ensure that tools are safely used in the manner in which they were intended to be used
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of all service shop equipment
• Participate in scheduled conference calls with the Corporate Service Shop Manager for directional updates
• Maintain the service area
Sales Support
• When required, assist sales support team with placing new merchandise on floor
• Attend staff meetings, as required
• When required, assist department manager/sales support team in sale set up (P.O.P., tagging of merchandise, merchandising) in preparation for ad events
• Sales of products and accessories within the hardgoods department when required
Standards of Performance and Measurement
• Passing grade on all required Forzani Retail College courses
• Service Shop Sales revenue above 100% comp
• Hardgoods Sales above 100% comp
• Customer surveys and feedback
• Mystery Shops
Abilities and Skills Required:
• Responsible for all elements of servicing related to Hockey Skates, Skis, Snowboards, Bikes, Racquets, Inline Skates, Skateboards. Other service may be required as our product offerings expand.
• Must be actively involved in sports or outdoor activities
• Must have a positive, outgoing attitude
• Must be able to work independently
• Must possess exceptional communication skills
Education and Experience Required:
• High School education
• Minimum of one season with FGL as a Senior Technician in each major category
• Successful completion all Forzani Retail College Service Shop training courses
• Previous retail experience would be an asset
• Similar technical experience with another company outside FGL
