SENIOR PIPING DESIGNER (Full-time)
Richmond / Parksville, BC
POSITION SUMMARY:
Senior Piping Designers are responsible for the design and detailing of various piping systems, under the general direction of the Project Leader.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creating, supervising and/or checking general arrangements, piping plans, sections, details, isometrics, tie-ins, pipe supports, and vessel drawings
Creating 3D piping models using Autoplant Software
Adhering to all client standards and procedures
Differing amounts of travel will be necessary for on-site measurements and field checks
Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines
REQUIRED SKILLS:
A minimum of 10 years related heavy industrial piping design experience
2D/3D AutoCAD
Autoplant 3D
Site experience in dealing with contractor questions
Good interpersonal skills required for internal team interfaces
Worked in a consulting engineering environment for the Pulp & Paper, Oil Refining, Oil Sands, Gas, Power Generation or Mining sectors
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION:
Relevant technical post-secondary education
TRAVEL:
Ranges from occasional (one day trips) to frequent (two to three days trips), with travel time often concentrated in bunches
