Financial Analyst

CGI currently has a full time / permanent opportunity for a Financial Analyst within our Financial Business Services group.

Reporting to the FBS (Financial Business Services) director, the successful candidate with perform detailed analyses of financial projections, cash flows, trends, budgets, client contracts, margins and variances vs. projections. The successful candidate will also assist in providing financial support and recommendations to the management team, including:

Providing financial analytical support to the select CGI business unit,
Performing detailed analyses of the consulting projects and outsourcing contracts within the select CGI business unit,
Liaising with project and account managers to discuss results,
Reporting and analyzing results, trends, ratios, budgets and forecasts for the industry,
Optimizing the use of systems to produce value-added financial reports/information,
Improving, standardizing and automating various accounting processes,
Conducting month-end variance analysis on revenue and expense lines,
Conducting balance sheet account audits and review reconciliations on a regular basis,
Various financial analysis and reporting duties, as required,
Participating in month-end financial accounting and reporting process,
Assisting in the preparation of quarter-end and year-end closings, including liaising with Corporate and external auditors, as necessary, and,
Addressing special reporting requests/management queries and assist with various in-house projects as necessary.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years general accounting experience in a financial environment within a large organization, preferably as a financial or budget analyst. S/he will be highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other computer software applications, and will be experienced in working in a computerized accounting environment. Experience with PeopleSoft is a definite asset for being successful in this role.

The ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary education, preferably in Accounting or Finance, and possess a CMA, or CA designation and/or an MBA.

The ideal candidate will have superior comprehension and communication skills, both verbal and written, and will possess a track record of quality workmanship.
S/he will possess strong analytical skills, with an eye for detail. S/he will also be well organized, able to prioritize conflicting demands, and able to work within tight deadlines.
Finally, the successful candidate will be results-oriented and equally comfortable working under minimal supervision or in a group environment.
