JOB OVERVIEW:
Our client, located in Mississauga, Ontario is a major financial organization who has a three month contract available for a Sr. Business Systems Analyst. We are currently looking for a senior IT BA to work on a number of mid to large scope projects. Successful candidates must have strong presentation and communication skills. Having a high level knowledge technology (Java ? SOA ? Web Services) is a definite asset. This candidate must have strong business acumen and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
-Work with business stakeholders and other SMEs to assess current capabilities and understand high-level business requirements
-Understand business requirements and apply technical background/understanding in the development of System Requirements Specification (SRS) documents
-Monitor product lifecycles, ensuring specifications and functionality support business objectives and architecture decisions, undertaking re-development, as required
-Work with the business to design effective ?To-Be? processes
-Identify and define detailed product requirements and use cases
-Work with the Technology Project Manager and architecture organization to define metrics and performance goals for the application
-Participate in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other requirements work products to ensure they fulfill the requirements
-Work with the Solution Designers to translate user and/or systems requirements into functional technical specifications
-Adhere to existing processes/standards, business technology architecture, risk and production capacity guidelines and escalate issues as required
-As required, research, design, develop and/or support solutions, processes, applications, systems, and products that maximize efficiency, effectiveness and/or system availability, and minimize or prevent problems and issues
-Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC) – including development of project documentation of system requirements, estimates of scope and cost, etc.
-Develop or participate in development of test scripts ensuring adherence to agreed upon business requirements and participate in the testing of developed systems/solutions
-Participate in transitioning the requirements and use cases to the Solution Designer and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements
-Serve as a resource for the change enablement team as they evaluate training and performance support needs and design the training and performance support products
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Knowledge in Java ? Web Services and SOA is a strong asset
-Deep knowledge of the technical environment/ tools (e.g., user environment, applications, software, hardware, programming languages and operating systems) in own area
-Expert knowledge of own technology, tools, programming languages, processes, and procedures
-Knowledge of Bank and technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications) and managing people/projects
-Ability to work independently with other areas/team members to meet deliverable requirements
