Staples Business Depot is currently seeking individuals for the following full-time position:
ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To provide administrative support to the Business Support Manager. This associate will have responsibility for duration of shift keys and act as a Manager on Duty as scheduled. This associate is expected to work a variety of shifts depending on the business needs including evenings, days, and weekends. May become a Keyholder in situations where the store will be operating with three managers for a duration of one week or greater.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES:
Responsible for counting the daily deposit, completing daily paperwork following company procedures and keypunching daily cashier totals- responsible for the security of funds while counting and processing daily deposit.
Maintain an efficient storage/retrieval system for all documentation in relation to the Service Centre.
Maintain adequate inventory level and places orders for all register and related supplies.
Ensure proper collection and storage of sales media, phone cards and money orders; maintains postage stamp and gift card reporting.
Responsible for all documentation and required signatures for all cash register and front office activities, according to company standards, policies and procedures.
Open, research and prepare invoices (including delivery, courier, etc.) for General Managers approval; prepare weekly sales information and reports
Places Help Desk calls and follows up when required.
Maintains Communication boards; updates Loss Prevention Centre
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders for the machines, merchandise write-offs and all other administrative operations within the Copy Centre.
Provides support to front line staff with customer issues, or concerns.
Knowledgeable about company policies and provides leadership to hourly staff.
Follows company procedures regarding security of store keys, locks, and secured doors.
Responsible for the security of the receiving area when a manager is not available.
Conducts Alarm checks and security walks.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Three months to one year previous retail experience in a leadership role or Lead Hand capacity. Will have three to six months on-the-job training.
Education:
Incumbents are required to have successfully completed high school.
Competencies:
Diplomatic and professional disposition.
Strong sense of customer service.
Possession of computer application skills would be considered an asset.
Ability to plan, prioritize and complete multiple tasks within specified deadlines.
