Job Cost Controller (CAN MIN VC10161 – Copy) Job in Sudbury, Ontario Canada

Our client, a well-established mining company, has an immediate opening for a Cost Controller in Sudbury, Ontario.

The primary role of this position is to prepare cost forecasts, track/monitor all costs associated with the project, continually forecasts project costs to completion of the project and prepare detailed budget and cost reports. The team will monitor the EPCM contractors and construction services providers to ensure that they are delivering on project objectives.

The Cost Controller is a Project Team member reporting to the Cost Control Supervisor providing budget and cost support to the project control functions associated with the execution of the project.

* Prepare Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) and develop account and project numbers upon approval. This includes cost code breakdowns for contract commitments and progress payment proposes;

Implement and control project change management, including preparation of project change requests. Preparation of budgets and forecasts for owner’s cost for execution of the project;

Assist in coordination and review of all invoices;

Run weekly Business Objects” cost report queries to verify project expenditures and notify the Project Manager of any inconsistencies of cost reported to the project;

Initiate and manage the operational expenditures (OPEX) of the project;

Maintain and update a project accruals spreadsheet, invoice register and forecast tracking spreadsheet for completion of monthly reporting on the CDCT;

Assist with management of the budget transfer process as required;

Assist in preparation of the monthly cost reports, forecast and cost trends for submission to the Project Manager;

Assist in preparation of the monthly project progress report for submission to the Project Manager;

Assist in setting up Project Controls Systems, including the control estimate, cost control system and project schedules;

Any ad-hoc requests as required by the Cost Control Supervisor.
