IT Infrastructure Manager Job in Montreal H4A3T2, Quebec Canada

Pour notre client majeur, nous recherchons un Gestionnaire, infrastructure TI – For our main client, we are seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager

Core Purpose

Reporting to IT-Infrastructure Director, the infrastructure manager primary role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall infrastructure operations to ensure stable operation of our Client IT infrastructure systems. He is responsible for developing; maintaining policies / procedures to ensure that project solutions are delivered within technical guidelines. He also maintains best practices for our Clients infrastructure.

To insure proper design, implementation and evolution of IT infrastructure solutions. This includes infrastructure solutions delivered under projects as well as under steady state (including system infrastructure systems managed by suppliers such as IBM, Telus, etc.).
Provide direction and governance for infrastructure solution development and implementation (Correct process and correct deliverables).
Manage relationship with all IT suppliers for all technology infrastructure systems
Understand the Client business objectives and priorities to identify and provide technology solutions and services which will improve or sustain the business operations
Act as the first escalation point for all user requirements within its business unit
Manages internal and external development and maintenance processes
Oversee and manage the operation leads that are working within technology project to ensure good transition from project to steady state team.
Responsible to size and monitor operation leads work load and progress on deliverables within project.
Responsible for developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems.
Work closely with IT-Infrastructure director and Enterprise architecture group to suggest initiatives that may improve business infrastructure and report progress.
Assist with IT staffing and budgeting projections.

Key Functions:

Lead all technology infrastructure activities within our Client
Lead a team of 5 to 10 persons, mainly Infrastructure and technical analysts
Staff internal project resources as per approved budget and plan
Ensure staff is properly trained and that workload is appropriately distributed
Maintain high level of quality within area of responsibility for internal and external (IT suppliers) deliverables for the entire project lifecycle
Provide strategic technical direction to resources assigned to project and baseline tasks.
Complies with and enforces standard Client Technology policies and procedures.
Work closely with enterprise and solution architect to ensure infrastructure implementation are delivered as per Architecture guidelines and standard.
Easily recognizes areas for infrastructure improvement and develops plans for implementation.
Familiarity with infrastructure technologies and ability to integrate components efficiently into our Client complex infrastructure.
Ability to understand application, network and system capabilities and produce infrastructure designs that meet business requirements.
Develop guidelines and standards that production teams will use to help guide their work.
Provide Infrastructure guidance, leadership and support to the client development team and to other project teams at large.
Develop a framework for consistency in operation leads deliverables to ensure smooth transition from project to steady state
Reviews and approve deliverables of operation leads across projects and addresses issues as appropriate.
Develop methodology to size and monitor operation leads resources progress within project
Ability to perceive underlying practices that affect infrastructure system performance and identify potential systems improvements.
Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to analyze, document and optimize the overall Infrastructure technical architecture.
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
Lends expertise to internal teams and task forces.
Focal point for infrastructure related matter
Ensure all infrastructures related documentations are up to date and available to IT staff.
Knowledge in web and application environments such as Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic
Knowledge of operating systems such Windows, Linux and Unix
Strong understanding of routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, MPLS, TE, QoS and working experience in Internetworking, IP routing protocols and troubleshooting for MPLS/IP VPN based networks.

Required Skills and Competencies

Bachelor degree in a related field (Information Technology, Computer Science).
Minimum 6- 8 years related experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Planning, controlling and scheduling operational and project resources.
Broad knowledge process improvement techniques and principles.
Knowledge of ITIL processes and methodologies to deliver high quality support to meet customers needs.
Strong leadership skills required and Data Centre Management leadership role desired.
Strong customer/client focus, with the ability to manage expectations appropriately; provide a superior customer/client experience and build long-term relationships
Excellent knowledge in infrastructure component and configuration such as network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems
Experience with Project management an asset
Bilingual (English, French).
