Senior Manager, Funds Transfer Pricing Job in Toronto, Ontario Canada

Our client is currently seeking one (1) Senior Manager, Funds Transfer Pricing. This is a permanent opportunity slated to begin in November 2011.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Lead and develop a team of finance professionals and collaborate extensively with product heads/executives for all deposit groups/lines of business, Product Finance Groups, and Information Technology Groups to deliver accurate and timely transfer priced margin and NII results each month;
  • Deliver new and enhanced transfer pricing and NII analysis on a regular basis;
  • Make recommendations for LP treatment of all deposits, and contribute to reconciling the results of this treatment within an LP balance sheet;
  • Make hedging recommendations in concert with developing product pricing strategies;
  • Research and recommend investment decisions and uses of cash;
  • Fully reconcile transfer-priced NII to green dollar NII;
  • Make recommendations for and track and managing unique, product-specific NII-enhancing hedge strategies such as margin pre-expansions and pre-extensions;
  • Develop and/or foster positive working relationships with business partners and/or project stakeholders (i.e. Management Reporting, senior product managers, product financial controllers, development team senior management, Senior Management). These relationships will be key to developing understanding, resolving issues and implementing change;
  • Act as department subject matter expert and technical specialist for Canadian deposit product features & financial risks;
  • Act asa representative for delivering rate and volume forecast inputs to annual Fiscal Planning process & producing monthly NII forecasts for deposit products;
  • Provide timely updates to Senior Management of significant developments in Balance sheet profile and NII drivers;
  • Continuous improvement of FTP processes including validation of methodologies and assumptions using complex data analysis techniques;
  • Develop team to help deepen knowledge of transfer pricing and balance sheet management principles, strengthen data analysis skills, and improve business results presentation and analysis skills; and,
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of Treasury with respect to FTP by having industry, external & internal business awareness, recognizing and anticipating trends, identifying issues and opportunities, and recommending action to senior management

Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance or Economics;
  • Interpersonal skills;
  • Organizational skills;
  • The features and characteristics of Canadian retail banking products;
    Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) concepts and their application to personal and commercial Mortgage, Loan and Deposit products;
  • Principles of interest rate risk management including Asset/Liability Theory and Fixed Income portfolio management concepts and techniques (e.g. duration, convexity, key rate immunization);
  • Producing and analyzing management reporting financial results;
  • Managing projects, gathering & analyzing business requirements and explaining requirements to system developers;
  • Valuing securities and financial products including bullet and amortizing bonds, swaps, prepayment options, caps and floors;
  • Using computer tools for data retrieval and analysis, in particular Excel; DB2, SQL, FoxPro, Data Cubes and OLAP tools would also be an asset;
  • The candidate will require exceptional organizational skills, and be able to prioritize and manage many different competing requirements simultaneously;
  • Ability to teach skills and concepts to colleagues and staff;
  • Quick to learn and apply new concepts;
  • Strong work ethic, ability to take initiative and balance multiple tasks;
  • Demonstrated strong analytical abilities ;
  • Synthesize feedback from many different stakeholders to draft comprehensive company wide process specifications, project plans, or system design documents tools; and,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; team player.
