Job Responsibilities:
This position is accountable for performing a variety of routine and some non-routine clerical/accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collection, payroll or another related financial area. Assist accountants as required. Responsible for daily ledger entries and other sales transactions.
1. Processes approved vendor invoices, check requests and employee expense statements.
2. Uses automated systems to input data, reconcile accounts and respond to inquires.
3. Verifies and compiles data and prepares standard and special reports.
4. Provides information on credit, rebate and claims resolution. Gathers credit and/or reference information. Collects delinquent accounts receivable. Researches and collects duplicate deductions.
5. Analyzes inventory transactions such as billings, returns and receiving discrepancies for errors and make appropriate adjustments in a timely manner. Maintains close, documented follow-up of assigned accounts to ensure appropriate resolution.
6. Posts to journals, ledgers and other accounting records.
7. Processes hourly and/or salaried payroll. Records and reconciles hours worked and enters all payroll information into computer system to issue paychecks.
8. Provides a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customers. Special projects as required.
Qualifications
2-3 years accounting experience
Experience with project cost accounting, foreign currency is desirable
Strong work ethic and personal drive to exceed expectations
Outstanding interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation
Excellent communication and organizational skills with an ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
Analytical and administrative skills with careful attention to detail
Proficiency in Word and Excel ; ERP experience beneficial
