POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent is responsible for the set-up, maintenance and control of non-financial “static data” associated with Foreign Exchange and Derivatives credit facilities, maintained in the sub-systems, in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. A high standard of quality is required at all times in order to reduce associated market / dealing and operational risk.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Capturing pertinent information from the credit authorizations and other authorized source documentation to the related sub-systems including:
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of a credit authorization, disbursement instructions and confirmation preferences
- Being responsible for reliable data entered into the sub-systems
- Maintaining a working knowledge of the various derivative and FX products
- Using the K2 B/F system and manual BF system in a reliable manner
- Any other duties as assigned
2. Ensure set-up and maintenance activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner including:
- Capturing or verifying the accuracy of pertinent information from various systems (e.g. CARDS, ScotiaFX Contracts)
- Determining whether authorized facilities can be accommodated within the sub-systems in a standard way
- Escalating authorizations with work-around procedures for management awareness and / or approval
- Ensuring updated NAV’s control spreadsheets as received for Fund Managers are captured
3. Providing a high standard of quality customer service to Scotia Capital trading management, relationship staff, credit staff, and internal GWS departments by responding to client needs globally and ensuring they are fully satisfied within the scope of the authorization:
- Organizing multiple tasks simultaneously to accommodate urgent requests (e.g. cancellations, reductions, ScotiaFX, SWIFT Broadcasts)
- Completing credit facility carve-outs in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensuring confirmations are sent / acknowledged for all increase/ decreases (carve-outs)
- Entering non automated drawing records and reverse / repose transactions for Derivatives
- Excellent communication skills are required to converse with the various departments
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Sound pc skills are required to communicate and operate within an automated, technology based work environment,
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High efficiency, flexibility and solid organizational skills are required to complete work in an accurate and thorough manner within deadlines
- Clear, concise oral and written communication skills
- Solid analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Ability to work within a team environment and contribute positively to team spirit and moral
- Working knowledge of various derivative and foreign exchange products, as well as disbursement and confirmation processes.
EDUCATION AND ACCREDITATIONS:
- Undergraduate degree from recognized university with a business concentration or equivalent working experience
OTHER INFORMATION:
- Working hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- Location: 720 King St West 4th fl.
- Flexible to work overtime on short notice to meet processing deadlines
- Knowledge of K2, WSS systems would be an asset
